The Italian Cooking therapy.
A healthy Lifestyle
It is well known around the world that we Italians enjoy cooking. This is absolutely correct. We consider cooking to be a real therapy for relaxation, in addition to providing pleasure and fulfilment.
I believe, you've probably heard the expression "when I cook, I relax" at least once in your life.
This is not an expression, but rather an action that, for many people, improves their well-being and helps them achieve peace. Even in the days following the action, engaging in a creative endeavour makes you happier and more relaxed.
Cooking is certainly a creative act!
Naturally, this is true if the time devoted to cooking is appropriate with what you want to do, if it is a moment free of any other duties or commitments.
Only in this way will the saying, "relax while cooking" be true!
The gestures, the smells, the excitement.
Cooking can be part of the grounding process, which is an operation that helps you become aware of the present moment. The sequence of motions, the use of hands that work in sync with your thoughts, help you focus on the here and now, allowing you to relax.
The essence of each dish, the fragrances of the spices, the aromatic herbs used in each recipe, or simply the aromas that occur during cooking, offer smiles and well-being.
We can see how genuine the expression "relaxing while cooking" is from here. Waiting until the moment when your preparation is complete teaches the art of patience and awaiting, as well as the joy of knowing you made something from start to finish.
Cooking encourages self-confidence.
Perhaps you haven't considered it, but getting started with a dessert, or a dough, from measuring the ingredients to cleaning the vegetables for a savoury pie, to then reach the final result, ready to be tasted, gives a boost of self-confidence, trust in your abilities, which will also be useful in more demanding situations. In addition to giving you, the genuine pleasure of tasting the results of your work, whether you are alone or in company.
Definitely better with friends or your special person, but in this regard, there would be much more to say and write.
