A Magical Italian Experience
Private Tour Spring 2023 - Trip journal – Part 2
Ciao Friends and Italy Lovers,
We are glad to share the second part of our trip diary.
The scenery is breath taking when you reach Sorrento, with a blue horizon, green cliffs, terraced lemon gardens where the famed limoncello is produced, vines, produce and more.
Because Sorrento is so popular and crowded all year round, we choose to stay in a little village, a fishermen's village close to the city. Lemon gardens, cozy hotel, no traffic, no crowds, and very close to Capri Island
When we reached the Sorrento coast it was a rainy day so with the small group, we chose to spend a day in Napoli Mic’s home town, thanks to our flexible schedule.
So much to see, art, history, architecture, magnificent views, and true Neapolitan pizza, sea food, shopping and an authentic espresso coffee at the Gran Caffè Gambrinus, 1860.
The Royal Palace of the Bourbons, the Certosa di San Martino up high on the Vomero hills, then down to the Castel Dell’ Ovo on the Lungomare Caracciolo with the Funicular dated 1928.
Luckily, the following day the sun was shining so a few of us spent a wonderful day in Capri.
It was time to leave for Amalfi, on the other side of the peninsula. Sergio our favorite driver picked us up, and entertained the crew with myths and legends of this magical land. Such a wonderful ride on the most beautiful winding roads of Italy! We stopped in Positano to then reach Scala, another happy place, away from crowds, the most ancient village perched high on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast with a privileged view on Ravello.
Time flew by as we took in the breathtaking scenery, delectable cuisine, history, art, and architecture, and, above all, the warm Italian friendliness. We said farwell, but will be back soon. Next tour is Fall 2023 - September 19th.
If you wish to join us, we travel slow and live “la dolce vita” as we Italians do. Contact us, shall be glad to hear from you.
Arrivederci Mic e Simo
