A Magical Italian Experience
Private Tour Spring 2023 - Trip journal – Part 1
Ciao Friends and Italy Lovers,
This wonderful adventure has also come to an end; we toured Italy from north to south, savoring the magical lifestyle of each and every corner of our tour.
This small and friendly group gathered in Milano, planned to arrive a few days early before the tour's "take-off." Very intense days following Leonardo da Vinci's footprints. The Last Supper, the Atlantic Codex, the paintings, the Castle, the "Navigli" waterways and the magnificent Duomo gothic Cathedral.
After leaving the big city, we travelled with our private van to Northern Tuscany's countryside and hills to experience the relaxed pace of a region home to numerous medieval castles and wineries.
Despite bad weather when we arrived, we planned a fantastic sunny day in Porto Venere - Cinque Terre, Lord Byron's hideaway, thanks to the flexibility of our schedule.
We stayed in a medieval farm house, enjoyed outstanding food, and wine from the owner's vineyard before heading to the Tuscan Chianti (shire) region. A stop at Lucca on the route to a magnificent and unique medieval village, awarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy among 300, tucked high on the green hills with stunning views on the countryside. A private "palazzo" for us only pampered by the friendly owners, Paolo e Valeria, with freshly made morning cakes and Chianti wine evening “aperitivo” on the terrace.
Then a dive into history and tradition in Siena and a Chianti Classico wine tasting at the winery owned by Mona Lisa’s father in the 14th century.
Yes, that very famous Mona Lisa painted by Leonardo da Vinci. Sandro, the owner is a very good friend and a very savvy man. So much to learn!
We said farewell to the lush Tuscan hills and drove to the well-known Sorrento Coast to our small fishermen village away from the tourists crowds with a glimpse of Capri…..Wonderful!
Stay with us, part 2 of our trip journal will follow soon. Grazie
Arrivederci Mic e Simo
